Marble Crayfish

Marble crays are a very unique breed of shrimp.  They are all female and the only cray that can clone themselves.  There has yet to be any males found!  They are great scavengers and will eat whatever they can get a hold of

Tank Requirements

This is one of those species of crayfish that are a little different than most.  They are really peaceful with its own species but, would not keep it with other species due to the territorial nature of most other crays.  I use cut pvc pipe and small clay flower pots to help give them extra hiding places.   Babies require many hiding places or they can and will eat each other during molts.

Breeding

They are the only known crayfish to reproduce by parthenogenesis or self cloning.

Feeding

Crayfish are scavengers & will eat whatever they find. There are many commercially avail foods for invertebrates or you can feed them shrimp pellets & flake food. In addition they also love to eat a variety of blanched vegetables like peas, spinach, and zucchini.
