Marble Dwarf Shrimp
Marble Dwarf shrimp are easy to take care of. They are in the same family as cherry red shrimp and require a lot of the same treatment. They should be kept in a well established aquarium with no predators. Stable parameters are very important when keeping Dwarf Shrimp and avoiding water parameter extremes is also very important.
Tank Requirements
These shrimp can tolerate a wide range of water parameters as adults, and the water temperature should be 22-28°C (71-83°F). If you keep this shrimp on a dark background it gets more intensive coloring. They seem to do better in a well planted tank.
Breeding
This shrimp will breed readily when keep in good quality water. They may crossbreed with other dwarf shrimp from genuis Neocaridina so they should not be keep with them. Females are larger and often display a saddle on their upper back. The saddle is the females eggs developing in here ovaries. The males reach approx. 21 mm while the female marble dwarf shrimp reaches a size up to approx. 25 mm.
Feeding
The Marble dwarf shrimp eat rabbit pellets, frozen food and as well as artemia. I have been feeding these mostly pure spirulina and fresh leaf spinach. Which I blanch prior to feeding to clean and allow the spinach to sink to the bottom.
